There have been some rumors of Apple developing a pair of high-end over-ear headphones under the Apple brand. With AirPods, EarPods, and HomePod, I'm guessing this could be called HeadPods. Just a random guess. Curved.de stepped in and made their concept for (Over)EarPods. I love the inspiration it takes from HomePod. However, I'm not sure if there would be much use for the LED panel on the side. I do like it design-wise, but I don't see much potential for it. I wouldn't mind seeing this with USB-C or Lightning support, as opposed to the micro-USB connector of the Beats brand. Be sure to check out the video below for a full concept.

The other day I was walking with Alex (my son who is the creator of this blog) through Best Buy. He was laser focused and marching quickly toward the store clerk several aisles away restocking Amiibos, as I got distracted by a display of colorfully printed Apple EarPods. These headphones were in the same square plastic case as the genuine Apple EarPods I had in my work bag. Same shape and design, only they had bright colored patterns, each making its own fashion statement. And, they were on sale for only $7. How could these be so cheap when the same Apple EarPods in white are sold for $29 at the Apple Store? They are knockoffs, counterfeits, of course, made in China. Some fakes make their way to brick and mortar stores like BB. Apple doesn't like counterfeits, and takes this seriously, not so much because they are losing revenue, but because these cheaply made products more often have poor performance, can cause electric shocks and even fires. What thriving company wants the word ‘fire’ attached to their electronic products (Samsung, anyone?)? This year Apple analyzed the products being sold on Amazon that claimed to be Apple-branded accessories. They now believe that nearly 90 of these online products are fakes. Although Amazon “allowed” counterfeit products to be sold through the website, Amazon itself hasn’t sold these knockoffs. “Fulfillment by Amazon” items, stored in Amazon warehouses by third party merchants, were most guilty being counterfeit. Amazon itself hasn’t been selling the fake Apple accessories. What can you do? Buy directly from Apple, in the store, or on their online store. If you still want to buy accessories that are not genuine, you can first check them out on Fakespot and read reviews to help determine the quality of each.
MobileFunTV has showed off what appears to be the EarPods for the iPhone 7. They have the same design, but with a Lightning cable instead of the standard 3.5 mm headphone jack. In the video, the headphones appear to be fully functioning. However, from my perspective, the Lightning cable looks a bit fake. That doesn't rule out that the iPhone 7 will only use Lightning and Bluetooth headphones. The video is embedded below.
With the iPhone 7 not having a headphone jack, a question is raised: Will the iPhone 7 come with EarPods that have Lightning connector or will they be completely wireless? A few theories speculate on this issue. Obviously, they could be Lightning or wireless, but other theories say that EarPods may still have a headphone jack with an adapter. Another theory is that EarPods may not be included at all. Perhaps the Beats line will be updated to reflect this change?
Mac Otakara, a reliable rumor source (unfortunately), says that the iPhone 7, the next iPhone, will not have a headphone jack. Instead, it will use the Lightning connector as a port for wired audio. This probably means that we will see Lightning EarPods and Beats when the iPhone 7 comes out next year. While this is a let down to many, there is a slight upside. The iPhone 7 could potentially be 1mm thinner, about 6.1mm instead of 7.1mm (iPhone 6s).
Have you ever been annoyed of constantly wrapping your EarPods in the case? Maybe you're just gonna use them for 2 minutes and put them back, but you don't want to have the trouble of wrapping and unwrapping because it takes forever! Well, I came up with a solution! First, uncoil the cable part of the EarPods until it reaches a comfortable distance between your ear and the headphone jack. Then, play your content or media. Finally, hold the EarPods in the case up to your ear. This makes it much quicker to wrap up your EarPods as about half of the cable is still in the case. It should look like the image below.
Whether it's "Geek's Night Out" or just a casual picture, you can use the remote on your headphones to take a pictures. Not all earbuds have a remote. Most Apple made earphones, including EarPods, have a remote. Some third-party earbuds also have a remote. The remote looks like the small buttons in the picture below. The remote tends to be located on the cord. To take a picture, go to the camera app and use the volume up or down button (the top or bottom portion of the buttons) to take the picture. It's the perfect shutter!
Well, that title was pretty much self-explanatory. Yes. The new iPod Shuffle doesn't have the new EarPods. Instead, it has the older Apple Earphones. It may be because of the small packaging. There are many variables. Short-story-that's-trying-to-be-longer short, there are no EarPods.

I recently bought some EarPods at the Otay Ranch Apple Store. They bring a whole new definition of music to your ears. Try your favorite song with them. It sounds great! It feels like that good feeling when you're relaxed in a jacuzzi. They didn't fall out when I shook my head as hard as I could. Nor did they fall out when I ran on a treadmill for a mile. I highly recommend them. I am giving EarPods five out of five geek glasses. What are you waiting for? Go get some!

Yes, it happened. The iPhone 5 has been announced! The new iPhone shows many new features. Some more surprising than others.
The iPhone now has a much taller screen. Apps that are not updated for the new display will be letterboxed seamlessly. You won't even notice. The home screen now consists of five rows of apps. It's 18% thinner, 20% lighter, and 12% less volume.
The new iPhone now has LTE, or Long Term Evolution, connectivity. LTE has been known to be even somewhat faster than Wi-Fi. Although, the new technology in the iPhone 5 comes with a faster Wi-Fi experience as well.
In addition, the new iPhone comes with the new Apple designed A6 chip which gives 8 hours LTE internet browsing time, 8 hours talk time, and 10 hours of video.
Apple also announced new ear phones dubbed, EarPods. These new headphones are made to fit perfectly in your ear.
In the camera department, the iPhone 5 has a new Panorama mode that can take pictures up to 240° and up to 28 megapixels. There are also 40% faster photo captures, 1080p HD video, and the front camera makes a huge jump from VGA quality to 720p HD FaceTime calls and 1.8 megapixel photos.
With the new Lightning connector (which somewhat looks like the ThunderBolt adapter for the Mac), there's no wrong way to plug in your iPhone to the charger. And it's easier to plug it in.
iPhone 5 also comes with iOS 6, the newest operating system for the iOS lineup, which will be released September 19th. iOS 6 introduces new features for Siri, including compatibility with the New iPad and the 5th Generation iPod Touch. Maps will be remodeled in Apple's new design. Passbook will also be released with the update.
The iPhone 5 will be available (if you can manage to get to the front of the line before they sell out) September 21st and available for pre-sale September 14th.
