Google Ad-Blocking

Google is probably the last company you'd expect to launch an ad-blocker, but they've announced one coming in 2018. Not entirely true to the name, the ad blocker will not block all ads. Instead, it's designed to block intrusive ads. This is in an effort to encourage advertisers to be more passive. Ads owned by Google may be blocked if they fall under this umbrella. We'll likely hear more in early 2018.

Apple Releases New 3D Touch and Live Photo Ads

Today, Apple released two more, very funny, advertisements about the iPhone 6s. These two are about 3D Touch and Live Photos. I think I can vouch for Apple when they said that Live Photos of cats are a great use of Live Photos. Best lock screen ever. Anyways, the videos are embedded below.

Apple Products Advertised at Super Bowl 50 Without Official Super Bowl Ad

While Apple had no Super Bowl ad this year, they certainly did have their products advertised. Other companies made advertisements with Apple products put subtly in them. Here are some of the ads featuring Apple products.

In T-Mobile's ad, Apple Music was featured at the end of the ad to showcase their unlimited streaming feature.

Next, Hyundai featured an Apple Watch unlocking and starting a Hyundai.

And finally, Apple's Beats line made an appearance in a commercial. This one featured Cam Newton of the Panthers wearing Powerbeats earphones.

'The Simpsons' Apple TV Billboard Ad

A new Apple TV billboard ad was spotted recently. In previous advertisements, the new Apple TV is advertised with a SMPTE test pattern with the Apple TV logo and usually some popular TV or movie icon. This time, that icon is none other than Homer Simpson. The Simpsons is definitely one of my (and Steve Jobs') favorite shows with over 500 episodes and 27 seasons and counting. You can stream any of those episodes with the FXNOW app for Apple TV. You can also stream more recent episodes of The Simpsons with the FOX NOW app for Apple TV.

Instagram Will Add Apple Pay and More 3D Touch Support

As many have noticed, Instagram has ads. As far as ads go, these aren't very annoying, unlike a lot of ads. Instagram actually has some pretty big plans for these ads. Soon, you'll be able to use a 3D Touch on an ad to see different variations of a product. You will also be able to use Apple Pay to buy a product directly from Instagram without leaving the app. For those who don't know, Apple Pay is also used in apps. This allows users to buy products from apps without having to type in a credit card number or creating an account. It's like PayPal, but better and more underused. Instagram is available from the Apple App Store for free [Direct Link].

iPhone 6s Ad - 3D Touch

Today, Apple released a new ad for the iPhone 6s centered around the 3D Touch feature. It shows how you can use Peek and Pop to preview links, flight information, and more. The video is embedded below.
"This is iPhone 6s. Not much has changed, except it feels different. Now you press lightly to peek and deeper to pop. It changes how easily you can peek a flight, check a post, search for dinner - ooh, you guys are going to love that place. You can find a getaway easier - Yeah, go there. And find music easier - wait, are you listening to your own song? So pretty much everything you do feels different and that's what's changed."

Apple Music Ad Airs During The Emmys

Apple debuted a new ad during the Emmys tonight. It featured Taraji P. Henson and Kerry Washington with Mary J. Blige. Other than the guest cameos, it's nothing new from Apple. With Apple Music quickly becoming the center of attention of Apple, advertising for it is to be expected. However, it's nice to see this kind of stuff during national televised events.

Apple Creates Apple Watch Flower Ad Campaign

Apple has made a new ad campaign for their retail stores. In front of Apple Stores, there are new wallpapers in the display areas. They feature a large picture of a flower behind an Apple Watch. It's kinda funny to see how small the Apple Watch is in the huge display. Especially when the watch is the only thing in the display. Here are some pictures.

Why There's Nothing Like iPhone

Apple has launched a new ad campaign for iPhone called "Why there's nothing quite like iPhone." It talks about unique features of the iPhone. It's a really well done site with fancy graphics. It talks about the camera, hardware, software, security, apps, and more. Please check out this site, it's really cool and makes me want to buy one even though I already own one. I'm sure there's an illuminati joke in there somewhere, but until then, I hope this helps.
