While the wireless charging iPhones work with any Qi-enabled wireless charger, the Apple Watch Series 3 has a hit-or-miss record with its compatibility. According to Chongdiantou, AirPods with a wireless charging case will work with any Qi-enabled wireless charger. This would be very convenient for obvious reasons. Despite that, given Apple Watch's unique charger, it makes very little sense to limit its charging capabilities.
