Apple recently announced that select popular TVs will be compatible with AirPlay 2 and HomeKit. HomeKit will add this functionality in iOS 12.2, which had its first beta released today. Usually, we can expect the golden master to release a little over a month later. Most of these TVs will be expected in Spring of 2019. It will be interesting to see what controls are introduced in the Home app.
