This document was filed in September, which suggests that the gold color may have been axed at the last second. Despite this, rumors have surfaced lately about a potential release of a gold iPhone X. I honestly don't think it would be in Apple's best interest to release it now, especially after the release of the PRODUCT(RED) iPhone 8.
