Rensenware

Most ransomware locks up your files until you pay the program money. However, Rensenware takes this concept to a more frustrating level [Source: Engadget]. It will lock your files until you score 0.2 billion points in Touhou Seirensen (Undefined Fantastic Object), a top-down shooter game. This started off as a gag, but caused people's computers to freeze up. Developer Tvple Eraser didn't expect this to happen and replaced his program on GitHub with a fix tool. It may have been a joke, but this was no laughing matter to those affected.
