A well-known Apple blog, The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW), is shutting down operations next week according to The Verge. This blog has been reporting Apple-related content since December of 2004. It is owned by AOL currently. As a result, this is cause AOL to layoff about 150 people.

Number one, we’ll focus our capital allocation resource management and management time against scaled assets and platforms. Two, we will organize our asset portfolio around scaled value and scaled growth assets. Three, we’ll simplify everything that can be simplified."
