If you buy an iOS app, the macOS app may come at an additional charge. This causes macOS apps to be less maintained, especially considering the current state of the Mac App Store. The next major releases of iOS and macOS may see a merger between the iOS and macOS App Stores [Source: Bloomberg News]. This sounds exciting. While I don’t think it will save the Mac App Store, I think it’s a step in the right direction.
