After Fitbit has said that they won't be adding HealthKit functionality, Apple made plans to stop selling Fitbit products in their retail and online stores. They will still sell the UP by Jawbone and other HealthKit-enabled products. It hasn't been determined whether Apple will still sell HealthKit-enabled products after the release of the Apple Watch. Either way, if you want to use the Health app in iOS 8, do your research and know that Fitbit products aren't compatible.
