Rotating your iPhone in the Messages app will enable handwritten messages. This can become quite annoying for some. To disable this, simply tap the keyboard icon in the bottom right corner. This will reveal the keyboard once again. To return to the handwritten mode, just tap the curvy line in landscape. I hope this helps.
