Today, Apple released iOS 8.1.1 to all iOS users. It addresses several bugs and improves performance for the iPad 2 and iPhone 4s.

This should be a very stable release as it mostly addresses bug changes. Even so, I suggest you follow my instructions to updating an iOS device.
