Have you ever wanted to waste the Retina Display that you paid extra for? Of course you do! To do so, you can pick an app (a Retina Display enabled one) and "get info" on it. To do this, control-click on the app in Finder, and click "Get Info". Then, check the box that says "Open in Low Resolution". This really does nothing that helps. I suppose it could make your Mac run slightly faster, but not by much. It just makes your apps look awful.
Interesting find. It might be useful if you were running a second non-Retina display on your Mac. I wonder what other apps have this preference? I'll be looking now. Thanks!
